assessment & interpretation and the design and delivery of assessment
centres through qualified professionals. These help our clients enhance
their own recruitment processes. Our assessment services support activities
in the arena of low volume – high quality recruitment where hiring
decisions are high risk and business critical e.g. senior manager and board
level appointments.
Assessment for Development
Blue Oyster provides development centre interventions for the development
of key individual contributors, team leaders, senior managers and executives.
Development centre techniques include, group exercises, individual exercises,
psychometric assessment, development feedback and development planning
tools. Our aim with all assessment is to provide an objective balance
between evidence and professional judgement.
Manager as Coach Programme
This hugely successful 3 day programme is designed to build the internal
coaching capability within our client organisations. If you believe in
the real value of the coaching process and want this to become a core
competency within your organisation, then we can develop your managers
and other key staff to become effective performance coaches. This is extremely
cost effective and means that you do not need to constantly seek coaching
expertise from outside the organisation except in exceptional circumstances.
Coaching Support
We work with clients either on a 1-1 basis or with small groups to improve
performance. All our consultants are highly experienced
coaches and have worked with a wide range of clients in many different
industry sectors. A coach does not need to be a ‘technical expert’
to be effective - it can actually get in the way of effective coaching
(this in our definition is the territory of the ‘mentor’).
What our coaches are expert at is; ‘Coaching’. We have a very
successful track record in supporting senior managers and directors in
turning around those individuals who are under performing and also, fundamentally
in maximising the performance of existing high performers.
Team Excellence Programmes - Team Development & Team Building
We provide the bespoke design and facilitation of programmes for both
team development and team building. So what is the difference?
We view team building as being an intervention to give a newly formed
project team the best possible start (vertical start up) to a specific
project. Team development on the other hand, is an intervention designed
to develop an existing team by finishing the unfinished team business,
removing perceived barriers to team performance (resolving relationship
issues) and increasing team effectiveness.
Both programmes focus on motivation & commitment, conflict handling,
team climate, self management, relationship management, openness of communication
and tolerance of differences. Both programmes are built around and underpinned
by the teams' goals and objectives.
